We were pretty astounded when TT first got out a cake box, pulled a chair into the kitchen, and pretty much demanded to bake a cake. Huh?

She was excited. She stayed focused. She didn't try to climb onto the oven, or even the counter for that matter. She calmly and happily went through each step on the box with me, as I furiously added the words to her AAC device. In fact, baking and cooking in general has been one of the most exciting developments of her life. Really!

You can see the sense of pride in her face as she looks at a pie that she helped make :)
